Guangdong - the most open and developed
market economy in China Guangdong
has the longest history of practicing
an open policy in the Mainland. 3
out of the 4 first Special Economic
Zones established in 1979 are in Guangdong
province. Over the past 20 plus years,
Guangdong has been striving to integrate
itself into the international economic
system. A new opening-up pattern with
all-directional, multilevel and wide-ranging
has come into being. I do not understand
this phrase. Presently, there are
18 national economic and technological
development zones and 64 provincial
economic and technological development
zones in Guangdong.
Over 200 countries and regions have
established trade ties with Guangdong,
and over 100 countries and regions
have invested in Guangdong. The top
500 multinationals have set up more
than 400 enterprises in Guangdong.
There are more than 90,000 foreign-invested
enterprises and nearly 3,000 representative
offices of foreign enterprises have
been set up in Guangdong.
Guangdong first put into practice
the market-oriented reform which aims
at founding a united, orderly, and
competitive open market. And now Guangdong
is becoming increasingly more market-oriented.
The government has, on a large scale,
reduced administrative procedures
for examination and approval and has
abolished the government-fixed price
for a great majority of commodities
and services.All kind production factors
are freely circulated. I do not understand
this sentence. State-owned enterprises
have been reformed into corporations
and have assumed sole responsibility
for their own profits and losses.
Non-state-owned enterprises have become
a significant support to the economic
development: the non-state-owned part
of industry accounts for more than
80% of the increase in Guangdong industry.
Trading is highly market driven with
diversified operation subjects and
market order is ever standardizing.
Free trade environment is getting
better and better with comparatively
advanced in specialized services and
rapid-growing in various agency service.
I do not understand this section.
Guangdong is leading China and is
meeting its targets of setting up
an open market – the market
economic system is largely established
in Guangdong.
